She makes a wholly undignified little sound of delight and then she's hugging him to if he's offered her food after a hundred days starving.

If there was any question that this is a good gift, well, there's probably no doubt now.

He gives her his least ironic smile, not returning the hug with anywhere near her level of enthusiasm but it's more than just standing stiffly.

"I thought there was at least one here who could appreciate it."

"More than anyone," she can assure him honestly. She smiles up at him as she lets him free of the embrace. "You do know how to make a girl feel special."

"I suppose one must learn something over the centuries." And lose much more, in his opinion, but he's in a good mood so doesn't feel a need to add that.
