"He beat me to it," she frowns. "I wanted to take you with me on a last ride and talk to you about it."
She sits cross-legged on the bed and the moment he's settled she nestles up against him. "He thinks we can keep from going back to the Barge. I don't know if I want to stay here forever but I know I don't want to go back there." She can, at least, talk about the Barge without losing her breath or stammering. It's a start, but only one she has because of Steve's alternative.
He doesn't know how well it will work, either. All he knows is that she needs him to be there. And even though he doesn't have a high hope that it will work, he has to go with her. Wherever they go.
